WEG Diamonds in the Rough Event: Understanding How to Support Executive Functioning

Talk Description: Explore strategies and tools to help students with special needs develop and improve their executive functioning skills, such as organization, planning, and self-regulation, to enhance academic success and personal growth.

Diamonds in the Rough is WEG’s annual conference in the Metro Washington D.C. and Baltimore area for families of students with special learning needs in pre-K–12 and the educators and professionals who work with them.

This annual event assembles national and regional experts to present valuable research, information, and strategies to help children with a variety of learning challenges to reach their potential.

The two-day schedule features a professional training webinar workshop with CEU credits on Friday. The full-day General Conference convenes virtually on Saturday, offering an inspirational keynote speaker and several interactive training sessions from which to choose.

Each year, the conference is built around a theme unique to the special needs community.

The 2023 theme is Illuminating a Brighter Future for All Students.

Friday's professional development opportunities will be virtual. Sponsors will have the opportunity on Friday to have interactive booths online as well as be featured throughout the webinar. Saturday's presentations will be available virtually. There will be time with Sponsors and Exhibitors during registration, lunch, and between break-out sessions.

Diamonds in the Rough brings together researchers and practitioners in the areas of child development and special education, respected providers of educational services and products, public and private educators and administrators, and service providers for students with special needs to engage an audience of parents and others that help students with special needs.
